Terms and Conditions
In relation to the supply of the service to you (the customer):
The service provided by Sand Safaris 2014 Ltd, operators of Dune Rider Unique Tours, includes the provision of sightseeing tours by passenger-carrying vehicles.
By agreeing to use Sand Safaris 2014 Ltd, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

Terms and conditions may be updated without notice on our website.
Alcohol/Smoking/Vaping:
The consumption of alcohol is prohibited inside Sand Safaris 2014 Ltd tour vehicles at all times during the tour.
Smoking/Vaping is not permitted inside Sand Safaris 2014 Ltd tour vehicles at all times during the tour.
Belongings:
Sand Safaris 2014 Ltd is not responsible for any personal property loss or damage, inside or outside the Sand Safaris 2014 Ltd tour vehicles.
Electronic devices:
All electronic devices can only be used with ear/headphones at a reasonable volume that does not disturb other passengers or interferes with the driver's commentary.
Flammable liquids and solids/compressed gases:
- Body/hair sprays, lighters. Please do not leave those items unattended inside the tour bus at any stop during the tour.
-Small camping cooking gas canisters. Please inform staff or tour driver that, you, the passenger, is carrying such camping gear on the day.
Children:
Children must be accompanied and supervised by parents or adult family guardians or other designated adult guardians at all times during the tour, inside and outside of the Sand Safaris 2014 Ltd tour vehicles. Children under 15 years old cannot travel unaccompanied.
Health:
Passengers must inform Sand Safaris 2014 Ltd or third party booking agent of any notably important health conditions at booking time or prior to tour date.
Pregnancy:
This must be stated at booking time. For safety reasons, the sand boarding activity is not permitted while pregnant. Also refer to Off-Road below.
Off-Road:
During the tour, off-road surfaces can be uneven and bumps are to be expected.
Seat Belts:
Where there are seat belts fitted on the tour bus: These must be worn at all times while the tour bus is in motion.
Truck Cab:
No passengers allowed in the tour bus cab, next to the driver.
Sand Boarding:
This activity can be dangerous. The sand boarding activity is undertaken at own personal choice, own risk and own liability. Minimum age limit to participate is 8 years of age.
Sand Safaris 2014 Ltd is not responsible or liable for personal or fatal injury occurring to passengers during and/or after the sand boarding activity.
Swimming:
No swimming is permitted at any beach stop during the tour.
Services:
Sand Safaris 2014 Ltd disclaims all responsibility and liability (including without limitation, liability in negligence) for all expenses, losses, damages, accidents, injuries and costs you might incur as a result of joining our tour. This exclusion is subject to any rights or remedies you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
Passenger Carrying Refusal:
Sand Safaris 2014 Ltd reserves the right to refuse passenger transportation, in the event, that this action has become necessary for safety reasons, when passengers conduct is not appropriate and may violate lawful rights and regulations in New Zealand, that passengers mental or physical state (including intoxication) is a risk to themselves, to other passengers or staff or may cause discomfort or inconvenience to other passengers and/or staff.
Bookings:
We require that you confirm your booking with us at least 24 hours before departure.
Passengers should keep their receipts and/or vouchers safe as replacements will not be issued. Customers are required to show and give their receipts and/or vouchers to the tour driver at boarding time.
Tour Prices:
All prices are stated in NZ dollars and include GST. Prices are subject to change without notice.
Cancellations and refunds:
If you wish to cancel your tour due to unforeseen circumstances and have already paid, a 20% cancellation fee applies. Cancellations must be received no later than 6.00pm on the day prior to departure.
Passengers who have not cancelled will be considered “no shows” and no refunds are available.
If you have booked and paid for your tour, but for any reason (bad weather, sickness, etc…), you are unable to join the tour, you may re-book for another day, this does not incur any additional fees.
Where a tour is purchased from a tour agent, any refund request must be transferred to the tour agent who sold the tour.
Departure points and times:
We endeavour to provide departure points and times for our Cape Reinga Tours as accurate as possible.
Itinerary:
We reserve the right on occasion, to cancel departures (i.e during severe weather warnings), arrange alternative transport, transfer our passengers onto a reputable company or alter the route for safety reasons.
Information:
Your email address and phone number allow us to answer your enquiries and contact you about the tour as necessary. Your email addresses and phone numbers are not shared with any other organization at any time.
Liability:
Sand Safaris 2014 Ltd is responsible for providing the services listed in the tour description according to the local standards and the accurate description of services offered in its pamphlets. It is understood and agreed that Sand Safaris 2014 Ltd is not the guardian of any customers safety and they can not be held liable in any way for any occurrences in connection with the client’s participation on the tour. Sand Safaris 2014 Ltd disclaims all responsibility and all liability (including without limitation, liability in negligence) for all expenses, losses, damages, accidents, injuries and costs you might incur as a result of joining our tour. Your safety is our concern but your responsibility.
